Hampton Roads Transit (HRT) released the latest cost estimate for the proposed light rail extension to Town Center in Virginia Beach. A 30 percent design build study shows the rail will come in at $243.1 million with a 14 percent contingency built-in according to the City of Virginia Beach. With the $155 million committed by the state, that brings the total down to $88.1 million for the City.
